How do I get into Teaching in TX?We Answered:
emergency certification has 3 things in your way.1, you must be in a program to be certified, the TEA website might have some help for you on that, but most colleges in TX have it.
2, a test in the content area you want to teach (TEXES) (all level, 8-12, 4-8, math, science etc.)
3, a test about your actions//reactions and other stuff, most teachers think it's not very practical...
The course you get enrolled into should have review courses for the tests, although my most recent experience with a teacher was one that walked out after the first day, because they wern't prepared for the 40% hispanic, 30% black, and 30% white/other demographic.

teaching job in Austin TX?We Answered:
Do you mean that you want a teaching job in Austin? Is English your second language; that is to say, was French the language of your family at home? Do you have a degree from a university with a major field of English or French language? If so, there are three possibilities:1. You can be a tutor of French to those who wish to learn French outside of their school program but to get a work visa, you must find a school or business that will submit the required U.S. government forms. When a job is advertised online or in a newspaper, the school or business should state if they will sponsor a visa. Sometimes they don't have this desire but if you apply and suggest it in your cover letter, they may choose to do this.
2. You can teach your major subject in a kindergarten through grade 12 school after you attend university in Texas for at least one year to get a teaching certificate. Each state in the U.S. has its own program for this. In some circumstances, you may have a chance to get a job before completing the program for a teaching certificate if you are enrolled in the certificate program.
3. You can teach your major subject at a college or university in almost any state if you have a master's degree or doctoral degree. In some circumstances, you may have a chance to get a job before completing the program for master's degree if you are enrolled in a master's program.

Is it too late to find a teaching position in Dallas,TX?We Answered:
yes, there are teaching jobs still. I'm in the same boat but not in dallas. They cap under 4th grade so if a school has more students than can fit into the cap they will get more teachers. Look at region 11 or 10. I Ten is Dallas. Region 11 is Forth Worth. Priviate schools not need a cert. This will give you at least a list of school districts then you can check out their website to see if they have openings.Palmer ISD has an opening for a kindergarden teacher. They might have others check their website. Keene ISD needs a ELA teacherMorris Said:

What is the deal I am desperate. I went to school, graduated with honors and I cant find a teaching job in TXWe Answered:
I got my first teaching job two days after school started. It all depends on when teachers decide to retire/run screaming into the woods/get sick, etc. Most hiring is done mid-late summer.
Watch for new schools opening -- these create lots of openings in both the new school and existing schools when teachers transfer.
Another thing to look at is your certification -- how many openings are in your area? I have dual certification ( science and English) and that was a problem. If I'd had science and math there were a dozen openings because the folks doing the scheduling expected science teachers to be able to teach math.
So if your certification is too narrow there may not be any slots.
Subbing is a good way to get to know the principals and schools in a district. I did a long term sub at the end of one year and got a teaching job the next.
Hang in there, prime hiring season is coming but be ready to expand your search area.
