Government Graduate Programs
Christian Said:
What are some government grants available for first year graduate students? We Answered:
Unfortunately, federal grant money is not given to graduate students. You will probably need to take out loans. Also, try to find a graduate assistantship. These positions often pay your tuition and/or a stipend.Dean Said:
What are some of the successful government programs? We Answered:
Public roads, police, military and courts. The only proper programs for our government and tax systems. All others are socialistic ideas and are doomed to failure, promote mediocrity, and subvert the right of choice of the individual.Luis Said:
Can it be acceptable to do more than one graduate program? We Answered:
No, you definitely won't be. If you do a stint in APS, then complete a law degree, and then apply for another graduate program you will be much more employable than the other people applying at the same time as you - you will have much better experience. It's a good idea to keep your mind open to different departments (as you seem to be doing) - DFAT had an outrageous amount of applications this year and is very difficult to get into. Once you have you foot in the door, it is often possible to switch departments.
I think the course you are proposing to take is an excellent one. A stint in government before your law degree will be immensely useful to your studies (especially classes like constitutional law and administrative law, which are compulsory for an Australian law degree), you will have a bit of money already to help you while you study, and you will be at an advantageous position compared to your peers post-law degree because you already have experience. This will help you get into the government department you want. A grad position in APS before a law degree would be extremely helpful if you decide to go into commercial law too - the big firms love experience like that.
I say go for it!

government programs to free ones self from an abusive family? We Answered:
She can call Social Services and report the abuse. They will place her in Foster care immediately while they investigate. To become emancipated your friend would have to petition the family court and provide proof she has a full time job and medical insurance. Going on welfare is not allowedPenny Said:
All tuition paid college program and then you volunteer when you graduate? What is it called? We Answered:
Not sure what the name is but it is something that the President did to help people get a higher education...try the government websites to find info on it....EDIT: but it's funny how people need a little something extra to give back.....You should do that just because.....no't just because of the cash.....I just have one word.....WOW!!!

if you take non-matriculating courses (prereqs) for a graduate program can you still get government aid?We Answered:
If you are working on prerequisites for regular admission to a grad program you may be eligible for aid IF, the courses amount to at least half-time enrollment (6 credits), you have remaining loan eligibility as an undergraduate (you haven't gone over $46,000 in borrowing), and you complete your prereqs within a calendar year (if you start your prereqs this summer, then all of your prereqs must be completed by the end of the Winter/Spring semester).Set an appointment with your financial aid office for more information and what you must do to be aid eligible. Each school has their own process for determining whether or not you are aid eligible while working on prereqs.
Good luck.
