What are some healthcare business careers? We Answered:
To get your foot in the door, you might want to target the Admissions/Registration area or apply to become a unit secretary. It will be helpful for you to know/learn medical terminology. Go to the library at a local community college and ask what medical terminology text their nursing program uses and get it at a reduced rate on Amazon.com or half.com.Healthcare organizations are just like other industries in that they require most of the same types of skill areas. Some business areas you may want to consider are strategic planning, legal, finance (i.e., accounting, budgeting, auditing), marketing, information systems, risk management and corporate compliance. Entry level positions in most of these require a bachelor's degree, possibly in business or healthcare administration.
If you are looking to move up within the administrative ranks, you will almost certainly have to get a master's degree in healthcare administration. The good news is that most hospitals (if that is where you want to work) will provide tuition assistance to further your career within healthcare. Hope this helps.

A business and medical career? We Answered:
Look in to a career in health care administration it provides the best of both worlds. You will be in the medical field but also have the opportunity to work in the business side of health care. Health Care Administration is a wide field that has such careers as Administrator, Finance Director, Operations Manager, Director of a department or institution, etc. If you like take a look at this site: http://explorehealthcareers.com/en/index…Look under health care administration for more information. Best of luck to you!!

what careers are in the business part of the medical field? We Answered:
There's a variety of business positions in medical settings where you can do entry level work including finance, strategic planning, process improvement, information technology, admissions/registration, medical records, marketing, and human resources. Many positions require a degree first; some do not. Try going to hospital websites and looking at the requirements for the posted positions. This should at least get you started. Hope this helps.Bertha Said:

Could I have a business along with a medical career? We Answered:
You will probably be stretched pretty thin to be a practicing MD and run a completely different business; unless you hire people to run it completely for you.
