I recently took a career/interest inventory, and a job it suggested for me was a media account executive. Basically the job entails working as an intermediary between your business and the advertising company. Your job is to make sure the advertising company's solution meets your company's goals and overall business strategy. So, you're communicating your company's message to the media company while making sure the media campaign is carried out in accordance to your company's wishes.

Does your school have a business degree with marketing courses? The best place to start working, after getting the right degree, is in brand marketing. The best place to get a job is in consumer products with the ultimate job at a company like Proctor and Gamble. The ideal career path is a couple of years in CPG and then an MBA at a prestigious school like Kellogg.

If your degree isn't that prestigious, start in sales for a consumer product company. They generally hire many folks right off the college campus and work up to marketing before getting your MBA.

Something similar to Introduction to Business, which was a general ed class that I took this class in Jr. College. Varying on the Instructors, they discuss different career paths in business and get you to recognize business terminologies. If you want more info, check your class schedule to see who is teaching the classes and get in touch with them to see what books they use and their syllabus or their course website. The class schedule will tell you if it's a gen. ed class or not. This will help you a lot.

Apply to work at a television station doing on-air economic analysis.

Apply to work at a major hotel chain in their marketing department. But try to become a manager. You can manage a hotel in 2 years if you have the right personality.

Offer your services as an independent contractor for businesses as their accountant or bookkeeper. Just visit different places and leave a phone number if they need help..
