I need an attention getter for my speech about a career? We Answered:
A friend visited Stinivasa Ramanujan and commented his cab number, 1729, seemed like a boring number. Even though he was dying, the Indian mathematician perked up and said it was a very interesting number. It's the smallest number that is the sum of two cubes in two different ways.Rachel Said:
What career would suit me best (read description)? We Answered:
I am guessing that you are still in school? So try this: Take a job aptitude test. You should be able to get one from your student counselor since they are supposed to help you with career advisement. Or maybe your local work source/employment office. It asks you what types of things you like to do and are good at, then makes recommendations on what you would be good at. You can also find them on line.Get the book "What color is your parachute" which is similar to the aptitude quiz but in greater detail. It's a very famous book and you can either get it from your public library or on Amazon. I bet they even have it in your school library!
For today, open the phone book and look at the yellow pages. There you will find all kinds of businesses. These businesses provide services from people who have chosen that career. Example, Doctor, Lawyer, City Planner, Mayor, Graphic Artist, Advertising, Public Relations, Architect, Engineer, Peace Officer, Nursing, Dentist, Landscaper, Construction, Home Decorator/Interior Designer, Hair Stylist, House Painter, etc.
These will give you some ideas to think about that is more solid then where you are right now. :) Have fun!

I will like that someone tell me how long is the career of accounting? We Answered:
In America, you need a bachelors degree in accounting in order to work as an accountant. This takes 4 years of study in a University. It is highly recommended that you get your CPA license (Certified Public Accountant). The requirements to get this license vary from state to state, but I think most states require 150 college credit hours (about 5 years of classes).I think that the average starting salary for an accountant is around $45,000-50,000. As you gain more experience, there is a lot of potential to get huge salary increases, or to apply for a new job somewhere else that pays more. The benefits are like most jobs, there is usually a health care plan, dental, retirement, etc.
Work hours vary from company to company, but one thing to keep in mind is busy season. Busy season takes place from January-March every year. This is when most companies prepare their financial statements and need someone to audit them, or need a tax professional to get their taxes in order. If you become an accountant, you should expect to work long hours during this time.
Accounting is a booming field, because the government keeps adding more and more regulation, and big companies can't keep up with all the regulation. So they need to hire accountants to make sure that the company is following all the rules. Expect to do a lot of sitting and looking through paperwork in this job. Also, a lot of number crunching. You will have to add up numbers and make sure that they match numbers from other documents that they are supposed to match. It's kind of a tedious job at times, but it's a job nonetheless, and I don't complain when I get my paycheck twice a month.

Accounting Certifications?We Answered:
You need at least a bachelors or masters if you want to make money in Accounting. If you get a certificate you may be able to work as a book keeper or under a senior accountant, but that depends on where you live and the work environment there. I would call some accounting firms and find out how they feel about the certificates, and if the would be willing to hire someone with one.Thelma Said:
Has anyone heard of Career Concepts? We Answered:
It sounds like a scam. If it sounds too good to be true then IT IS too good to be true. If it really works that well don't you think everybody will jump on it and get rich easy? If I were you I wouldn't even think about it.
